Tony Wells is a public and private company director and venture partner with deep experience in digital transformation, customer growth, and large-scale enterprise governance. He currently serves on the boards of Yelp (NYSE), Nexstar Media Group (NASDAQ), Amalgamated Bank (NASDAQ), TripleLift (Vista Equity) and Burrell (FVLCRUM). Previously, he was Chief Media Officer at Verizon, where he oversaw a $2.5B annual media investment across all business units and Chief Brand Officer at USAA.
Tony is currently a Venture Partner at AZ-VC, Arizona’s largest venture fund, and has served on multiple private-equity-backed boards through successful exits. A former U.S. Marine Corps infantry officer, he is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business.
