Kim McWaters is the President & CEO of Fresh Start Women’s Foundation. Founded in 1992, Fresh Start is a Phoenix-based non-profit organization with a mission to provide access and resources that help women achieve self-sufficiency and use their strength to thrive. The organization serves more than 6,000 women each year and has supported more than 65,000 women over its history. Before joining Fresh Start, Kim was the long-time President and CEO of Universal Technical Institute (UTI: NYSE), the nation’s leading provider of transportation technician training. During her 35-year tenure, Kim partnered with industry leaders such as BMW, Ford, Freightliner, and Porsche to train students for high-demand careers while providing employers with a pipeline of skilled talent. A Phoenix native, Kim is passionate about empowering others through education and leadership. She currently serves on the board of Penske Automotive Group (NYSE: PAG) and is a founding member of the TechForce Foundation. Over the years, Kim has been active in the community, serving on numerous nonprofit boards focused on advancing education, healthcare, and opportunities for women and children.
