Denise serves on the Board of Tractor Supply Company (TSCO:NASDAQ), the country’s largest rural lifestyle retailer where she is Chair of the Governance Committee, a member of the Compensation Committee and was on the Audit Committee. TSCO is a Fortune 300 company with over 2,500 stores and 50,000 employees. During her tenure as Committee Chair, the Committee has led the successful and planned Board refreshment and leadership rotation. The TSCO Board and Management have navigated a fluid external environment through a commitment to its mission and values. As a C-Suite executive at AMN Healthcare (AMN:NYSE) from 2000- 2023, Denise, with her colleagues, shaped and executed the strategy and cultivated the culture that propelled transformational growth from a $250M privately-held nurse staffing company to the nation’s largest publicly-traded workforce management and technology organization with revenues reaching ~$5B and over 15,000 employees. As the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, Denise served as a trusted advisor to the AMN Board through its IPO and secondary offerings, CEO and director transitions, shareholder engagements and M&A. Given her strong business sensibilities and practical approach, Denise’s executive operational responsibilities included developing, scaling and leading the Risk Management, ESG, Human Resources, Internal Audit, Real Estate and Customer Service functions.
Denise spent five years with The Mills Corporation, a NYSE-traded REIT (acquired by Simon Property Group), serving as Vice President and Senior Counsel heading the Legal function for operating shopping centers after several years in private practice with a well-recognized law firm focusing on real estate, litigation and corporate reorganizations,
Numerous organizations have recognized Denise’s leadership, including the National Diversity Council as one of the Top 50 Women Lawyers in the country and the Association of Corporate Counsel as In-House Counsel of the Year. The teams she led at AMN Healthcare received many awards, including the NYSE Leadership Award for Best Governance, Compliance and Risk program.
