Governance Excellence
We advance balanced boards as a competitive advantage for business.
50/50 Women on Boards™ is the leading global 501c3 nonprofit advancing the business case for balanced boards. We strengthen corporate governance through research, education, and engagement with corporate directors, investors, recruiters, and stock exchanges to strengthen board composition and connect qualified talent with board opportunities.
Boards shape companies, sectors, and capital markets. Yet many qualified candidates remain overlooked because of limited visibility and access to the people who see, consider, select, and appoint board directors.
We move the market from awareness to action. When boards reflect the full range of qualified talent, they make better decisions, strengthen performance, and govern more effectively.
2026
50/50 Women on Boards spans 21 U.S. cities and six international capitals, engaging more than 4,000 participants annually. We introduced The Director's Table Dinner Series, connecting board-ready talent with the nominating and governance leaders who shape board appointments.
2025
Grew our volunteer-powered network to more than 500 regional leaders and expanded the Global Summit in New York, convening influential governance voices from around the world. Fifteen years in, we continue advancing highly qualified women to board leadership, strengthening corporate governance, and building the relationships that move companies from awareness to action.
2024
Women reached 30% of Russell 3000 board seats, a historic milestone, with women of color holding nearly 8% of seats and 14% of boards achieving gender balance. We also launched our Mexico City Mentorship Program, expanding our board-readiness portfolio with one-to-one board mentoring.
